Shame is not simply a feeling we experience when we do something wrong. It is a systemic belief system that corrupts our godly inheritance and effects everything we do. Shame is the hidden poison that distorts our relationship with God and others, work behaviors, our self image, and even our eating habits. Shame Off You is a 5 week discipleship course designed to uproot the systematic root system of shame and replace it with God’s truth about who He is, who you are, and His inheritance for you as a son or daughter. Truth is the key to freedom, but it’s not always as simple as just hoping for the best. To uproot the systemic lie, we must understand how its perspective shapes our memories, behaviors, emotions, and beliefs.

When Maria led us through going back to a memory and seeing where Jesus is, a painful memory of being abused that I've avoided for years came up. There was so much shame attached. As I saw myself detaching and going into another world in my mind ( in order to avoid the pain) I saw Jesus show up and stand right beside me. He was weeping and so sorrowful for what i was going through.😭❤️ This impacted me so deeply that Jesus himself would show up and weep with me!
